What happens after closing
People drive past your building after dark every day, and it either registers or it does not. A dark building reads as closed, and in a quieter way it reads as not there. Light keeps a building in circulation.None of this is about making the building pretty. The building is the largest thing the business owns that faces the public, and lighting decides whether it says anything after five. It is infrastructure, not decor.
Storefront and facade lighting
The facade carries further than the sign does. Light the structure, not just the surface, so it becomes recognizable. Company colors can be part of the plan with a permanent LED system, and they can change whenever there is a reason.
Entrances, patios and the places customers stand
Poorly lit entries are a silent leak. Light the entry, the threshold and the path to it so nobody has to look for it. For restaurants, outdoor seating lives or dies on the lighting. Warm, low and glare free: the technique is identical, the stakes are not.Commercial lighting decisions stay with a building for years, which is a reason to keep the plan on file rather than in somebody's head.
Neighborhood and community entrances
Community entries carry the identity of the place. Light on the entry structure and its landscaping signals that somebody looks after the place. For a homeowners association, it is one of the few grounds expenses residents actually notice.
Install timing
The process does not change: consultation, design, installation. What changes is when the crew can be on site. No business wants scaffolding in front of the door during business hours, so the install is timed around when you are open.
Seasonal color without a seasonal contract
With permanent hardware, the display is software. Holiday colors in December. A single color for a cause month. Team colors when the town cares about a game. A brand palette the

The approach
The approach is rarely on the lighting plan, and it is the part every customer physically experiences. A dark lot with an unlit walk colors the whole visit. Lighting the route does not photograph well, and it does more for how a business feels than the facade does.Worth saying: a commercial plan can be phased. The facade generally comes first since it carries the furthest, and the entry, walkways and patio can follow.
The next step
The design depends on your facade, your parking and your approach, not from a standard offering. EverCrest Lighting designs and installs commercial outdoor lighting for storefronts, restaurants, offices and communities across Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina, out of Greenville. The consultation is free. Call (864) 252-1732 or email
